Monumental Inscriptions of All Saints, Cawthorne - Section 4

Section 4 Upright stone on base. Pointed top with border. Scrolls top centre carved inwards at sides. First line of inscription round edge of top with 'In' amongst the scrolls.
In / Affectional Remembrance / of / Anne BARLOW / Daughter of Charles/ and Mary BARLOW who died / September 8th 1849, aged / 2 years and 3 months. / Also Joseph BARLOW, son of / the above, who died September / 12th 1849, aged 5 years. / Also Rhoda BARLOW, daughter of / the above, who died September 13th 1849, aged 6 months. / Suffer little children to / come onto me and forbid / them not; for such is / the Kingdom of Heaven. / Also Elizabeth BARLOW, daughter / of the above, who died August / 31st 1855, aged 19 years.

Section 4 Upright stone with scalloped top. Stylised scrolls and a figure of a woman, centre top bearing what appears to be a distaff in each hand.
Here Lyeth / The Body of Sarah, the wife / of John BEDFORD of Cawthorne, / who departed this life the 10th / Day of December 1821 in the / 58th year of her age. / But drops of grief can ne'er repay / The debt of love I owe / Here Lord I give myself Away / T'is all that I can do

Section 4 Upright stone with scalloped top, scroll decorations and border down each side.
Sacred / To the Memory / of / Rachel, wife of Robert / BROADHEAD, of Cawthorne Lane / Head, who died Nov. 9th 1853 / Aged 59 years. / Also the above Robert BROADHEAD / who died on the 1st day of October / 1872 Aged (?)

Section 4 Upright pointed top with cross in centre top.
In Memory of / Charles Thomas / son of John and Julia BROOKS of / South Lanes, Cawthorne, / who fell asleep July 21st 1859 Aged 1 year and 6 months. / Mary BROOKS, born October 22nd 1864 / Died January 22nd 1866. / John BROOKS, born October 15th 1821 / Died July 27th 1871. / Thy Will be Done. Also Mary Ann, daughter of John and / Julia BROOKS of South Lanes, Cawthorne, / who died Sept. 18th 1875 Aged 8 years and 5 months, / And was interred at Cawthorne / Church Sept. 21st.

Section 4 Upright with rounded top. Kerb with small upright rounded stone at foot. Line round edge of stone.
In Memory of / Margaret wife of / Isaac CHARLESWORTH of / Denby Dale,who died July / 5th 1861 in the 37th year / of her age. / Her end was Peace.

Section 4 Upright stone, with pediment and plinth lying behind it.
In / Affectionate Remembrance / of / George FOX / who died May 21st 1874 / Aged 61 Years. / Also Ann, daughter of the above / who died June 6th 1849 / Aged 11 weeks. (On plinth - A Ebden sculptor, Doncaster Road, Barnsley)

Section 4 Panelled table tomb.
In Memory of / the late William KIDD / of Cawthorne, Low Mill. / Who departed this life the 15th day of / May 1859 Aged 48 years / Also Elizabeth, daughter / of the above named William KIDD / who departed this life the 30th day of / October 1859 aged 20 years. / Also Joseph son of the above William KIDD / who died June 19th 1869 aged 33 years.

Section 4 Upright stone on base. Ornate Cross on both sides, sloping shoulders, narrow kerbstone. Capital letters in red.
In Memory of / Sarah Ann MIDGLEY / who died March VI / AD---- / aged ----years / Lord Remember me / William Walter / Died August 10 / AD. MDCCC LXXX / Aged XX years.

Section 4 Tall upright stone with rounded top. Line border around edge. Kerb with rounded stone at foot. In / Memory of / William Son of Edward and / Margaret POTTS of Banks / Hall, who died May 19th 1844 / Aged 16 years. / Also of Dorothy Grace their / Daughter who died December 7th / 1855 Aged 21 years. / Also of the above named Edward / POTTS who died February 10th 1862 / aged 66 years. / Also of the above named Margaret / POTTS, who died July 14th 1883 / Aged 86 years.

Section 4 Upright very tall Cross on solid plinth. Very ornate Cross and inscription. Viking type decoration at end of short lines.

In Memory / of / Mary the Wife of George SCHOFIELD / of Raw Green who Died the 20th / day of August 1831 aged 58 years. / Also Elizabeth OAKES, Mother of / the above who died the 27th of May / 1828 Aged 78 years. / In Life Respected, in Death regretted. / Also Samuel Son of John and Hannah / SCHOFIELD of Denby Dale, died June / 12th 1832 Aged 3 years. / Also the above George SCHOFIELD / who died July 5th 1853 Aged 79 / years. Also Elizabeth Daughter of / the above George and Mary SCHOFIELD / who died March 5th 1857 Aged / 59 years.

In / Memory of / Ann, the daughter of George / and Elizabeth SCHOFIELD of / Bowling House, Cawthorne / Lanes, who departed this life / the 10th day of November 1851 / In the 8th year of her age. / Also the above Elizabeth SCHOFIELD / Who died April 19th 1879 In her 73rd year. / Here end was Peace. / Also the above George SCHOFIELD, / Blacksmith and Farrier, / Who died June 19th 1884 in his 78th year. / In Life he was greatly respected by all who knew him. / In Death sincerely lamented by all his Relations and Friends.
