Early Registration Districts in the Barnsley Area

Early Registration Districts Colour-coded compilation, by Barry Kelly, of the original Registration Districts covering the areas and parishes of Barnsley from 1837, and subsequent changes in the 1850s. Barnsley proper was covered by the Ecclesfield District until its own Register Office opened in 1850, whilst part of the area came under Hemsworth Register Office. For those members who are not familiar with Barnsley in those times, this list should prove both interesting and of great help in their research.
