Contributors are invited to submit material by email to the Journal editor at editor@barnsleyfhs.co.uk

Photographs should be a quality large image within the shot. This is because it may have to be reduced for the Journal and fine detail might blur. If you wish the photo to be returned to you, please include a SAE. A copy of photographs received for publication will be made for the photographic archive of the Society.

Try to keep your article to a maximum of 1,000 words.

Remember to include your name and membership number when forwarding anything for the Journal. Unless a specific request is made to the contrary, your name and membership number will be given as part of the article.

Photographs can be black and white or colour, although at the present time all those for use on the inside pages are converted to black and white for publication purposes. Suitable colour photos may be used on the front cover of the Journal, providing it is accompanied by an appropriate caption. Colour covers have been used for the Journal since the January 2009 edition.

Articles and photographs may be sent by email or on a CD or DVD. Make sure that disks are adequately wrapped for posting, as we cannot accept responsibility for any received in a damaged condition.

If you are sending material on disk or by e-mail, the font used in the Journal is ARIAL 9pt. Please do not use bold block capitals in your article, and, unless it is a 'dialect' article, please use words and expressions in correct English.
